  • 6 bunny-shaped wooden meeples (playing pieces)
  • 6 number cards (numbered 1-6)
  • A scoring track board
  • A deck of voting cards

• Objective: The goal of Dixit is to score points by correctly guessing which image card matches the story or phrase told by the active player (Storyteller).

2. Game Play:

• Choose the Storyteller:

  • In the first round, the youngest player is the Storyteller. In subsequent rounds, the role rotates clockwise.

• Deal the Cards:

  • Shuffle the image cards and deal 6 cards to each player, face down.
  • Place the remaining image cards in a facedown pile in the center of the table. This is the Draw Pile.

3. Start the Round:

• Storytelling:

  • The Storyteller selects one of their cards and looks at it secretly.
  • They craft a story, phrase, or clue inspired by the image on their card.
  • The story can be as simple or complex as the Storyteller desires, but it should not directly describe the image on their card.

• Picking Image Cards:

  • After telling their story, the Storyteller passes the remaining 5 cards in their hand, face down, to the player on their left.
  • This player selects one of the 5 cards and passes the remaining cards to the next player.
  • This continues until all players have selected one card, which they keep face down in front of them.

4. Voting:

• Reveal the Image Cards:

  • All players simultaneously reveal their chosen image cards, placing them face up in the center of the table.
  • The cards are shuffled, and a number card is randomly selected from the deck.
  • This number will indicate the order in which players will guess which image card matches the Storyteller’s story.

• Guessing:

  • Starting with the player to the left of the Storyteller, each player attempts to guess which image card matches the story.
  • They secretly select the card they believe matches the story and place it face down in front of them.

5. Scoring:

• Correct Guesses:

  • Players who correctly guess which image card matches the Storyteller’s story receive 3 points.
  • The Storyteller also receives 3 points for each player who correctly guesses their card.

• Incorrect Guesses:

  • Players who choose the wrong image card receive 0 points.
  • If no one correctly guesses the Storyteller’s card, the Storyteller receives 0 points.

6. End of the Round:

• Move the Bunny Meeples:

  • Players move their bunny meeples along the scoring track based on the points they earned in the round.

• Refill Hands:

  • All players draw new cards from the Draw Pile to replenish their hands to 6 cards.

7. End of the Game:

• Last Round:

  • The game continues until one player reaches 30 points or more, triggering the final round.

• Final Scoring:

  • In the last round, players do not draw new cards after revealing their image cards.
  • Scoring is conducted as usual, and the player with the highest total score wins the game.
